Muons Before Quarks

As pointed out in a comment on gocomics.com, quarks actually come after muons.  Sort of.  Quarks are elementary particles that make protons and neutrons.  Muons are sort of a heavy electrons.   I  don’t know if you can say for sure that electrons are are more or less elementary than quarks since electrons are thought not to be made of smaller elementary particles.

And that exhausts my wikipedia fueled knowledge of quantum physics.

And I thought that Muons were the elementary particles that made up cows while Quarks were the elementary particles that made up ducks, neither of which are regular characters in Over the Hedge. And that exhausts my gocomics.com fueled knowledge of cartoon physics.

And here I thought that Quark was the Ferengi barkeep in Deep Space 9! Shows ya what I know…

We do love darling Verne, but he really does think too much. One might say that about others that could be mentioned. Sometimes the Universe just has to be accepted.
