The One Where We Rip Off David After Dentist

David After Dentist is an amazing piece of cinema verite.  As a parent, I can remember many amazing “kids say the darndest things” moments.  I just didn’t have a video camera at the time.   And if I did, would I film it?  And if I filmed it, would I post it on YouTube?

I don’t think I would.

As funny and charming as DAD is, I think it’s exploitive.  They’re running an ad before the video, so someone’s making money off it. Maybe they’re giving it all to charity.  I don’t know.   But think of David.   That video has 80 million views.  For the rest of his life, he’ll be the goofy, spaced out kid who said, “Is this going to last forever?”

No, I don’t think I would have posted it.

The Tail Bone’s Connected to the Spleen Bone

I designed that surgical diagram using the extensive knowledge I gleaned from when I was pre-med in college. The anatomical detail is impressive when you consider it’s drawn with a crayon entirely from memory.

Yes, I was all set to be a doctor until I learned cartoonists could sleep in and no one cared how many Bud Light Limes you had the night before.

Do Not Drink and Draw

Well, as anyone can clearly see, RJ has regrown his tail overnight.  Not exactly as I wrote it.  Apparently, T had a few before tackling this strip and blanked out on the storyline.  That, or he’s drawn RJ from the back so many times that he literally drew this one in his sleep.

We’ll be convening an intervention for T real soon.

Everybody’s invited.  Drinks on me.

Poor Katy Perry.  She doesn’t deserve to be thrown in with this lot.   When I was thinking of who RJ would have tattooed on his tail Katy just popped into my head.
