To Boldly Wear What No One Should Wear Again

oh160531The idea that we’re alone in the universe is only reasonable to someone who has no conception of how big the universe is. It’s really, really big.

Size matters.

It’s Raining Alpacas

oh160530This is what happens when a legitimate news story gets processed through my Cuisinart brain.

Though, to be fair, airedales polkaing would be fun to see.

Hulk Floss

oh160528It was a toss up between a toothpick and a spackle trowel. Toothpick had a higher squeamish factor.

Over the Hedge: Supplying all your squeamish needs since 1995.

The One Where You’re Supposed to Laugh.

oh160527I pretty much almost never write gags like this. They’re hacky. That’s why the gag is in the second panel and the “I know it’s not that funny” punch is at the end. Like the “apology” is funnier than the gag.

And that was way more than you wanted to know about this cartoon.

Carry on.

Collateral Damage Deposit

oh160526Super battles in Antarctica or the Sahara or even WallMart parking lots aren’t quite as interesting as a big city with squishy humans and fragile buildings, roads and bridges.

Is Superman’s Fortress of Solitude on Airbnb?

oh160525Robin has a lot of insecurity issues that really come out when he over does the peyote and absinthe.

Laying eggs isn’t the worst of it.

How Do Superheroes Go to the Bathroom?

oh160524Yeah, screwed up. Again. Yes, in Iron Man 2 he goes to the bathroom in his suit.  I saw that. I knew it. Yet, I forgot it.

My bad.

Do Superheroes Bleed?

oh160523These are important questions. Mainly because I’m working on a new middle grade novel about Supers. I can’t tell you what it’s called yet, but I can tell you what I’m aiming for:

Deadpool for ten year olds.

Deadpool is the best superhero film I’ve ever seen. It identifies all the Super tropes and then obliterates them. It’s funny. And it has real stakes that don’t get diluted in the comedy. It’s the Terry Pratchett of super hero films. It stars a real person in an unreal world.

Good stuff. Mike-Bob says check it out.

In a World…

Over the Hedge

Not sure what I was thinking with this one. Perhaps I wasn’t thinking. Which is okay. Since this turned out pretty cool.

I pledge to NOT think more often!
