Homeowner Blues

Hedge04132018That’s Star Trek on the monitor. Been watching the new one on CBS All Access. It’s pretty good. Kinda heavy handed. Not as nimble as the original or several of the iterations. And super complicated. Mix and match characters from two parallel universes. And there’s some sort of nonsensical mushroom drive the propels Discovery.  I like the noseless tall alien with danger Will Robinson tingling ganglia. Mike-Bob gives it two thumbs up.

A Cool Breeze

oh150811This isn’t quite what I had in mind. A few years ago I found a family of possums living in the plenum right next to the evaporator coil in the AC unit in my studio.

This works, but the geography is hard to decipher.

Onward.

A Star Shall Blind Them

We don’t put up Christmas lights because our nearest neighbor lives a quarter mile away.  The only ones that would seen them would be the turtles, raccoons and squirrels on our property. And they might not see them either because they rarely come out of our attic. They’re having too much fun ripping out wiring, wall board and insulation to concern themselves with the holidays.

Maybe we should put up lights in our attic. Maybe the resulting holiday warmth and good cheer will cause the critters to reconsider their destructive ways and take up the path of peace and good will for all creatures.

But probably not.
