The Tree That Sells Stuff
What’s wrong with advertising? To start with half of all advertising is useless, we just don’t know which half. Except online we do. We know exactly how many clicks or engagements led to a sale. So why hasn’t more advertising (TV) moved online faster. Because the business model where half of all advertising is useless is VERY lucrative.
Uncertainty outsells certainty. The potential outsells the promise. What we want outsells what we need.
These are the lessons I learned running an online media company for five years.

How to Stop Trump
The reason I think Trump will eventually fade away is that this cartoon got no negative responses over at gocomics.com. Usually, when we do politics you’d think the world had come to end. Lots of rancor. Lots of chest-thumping. Partisanship writ large.
Not this time.
Thank goodness.

The One With a Zombie Leaf
Bad coloring. It’s fall, the leaf should be yellow or red or brown. T doesn’t color it, someone at the syndicate does. I would complain, but that would require effort and follow up and probably more work on my end.
Over the Hedge: Putting in a reasonably worthwhile effort that doesn’t inconvenience us since 1995.

Long Lead Time
Yeah, we’re only a couple weeks ahead. I think we’re supposed to be a month ahead. I also think we get fined for being late. Not sure. Maybe I should check.
